London January 3rd 2004
London Main hub and terminuses and start outs for Britains Railway Network. Comprising of 100's of Stations both Overground and Underground, Railway depots Yards and lines.
The three that I went to today are Willsden serving the West coast main line. Old Oak Common serving the Paddington - West Country mainline and North Pole Intl Depot servicing the Class 373 Eurostars.
All with in a 3 mile radious of each other.

First Standing at the South end of Willsden Depot were 2 Virgin Thunder Birds. Class 57 #'s 57312 & 57305 with 57303 standing out to the right of the picture behind the loco shed (out of shot) This shot was taken from the Road bridge going over the WCML and then the shot was zoomed in on the digi camera and then the photo taken on the camera of the zoomed in shot. Thus why it looks a bit grainy. Also 2 lines of Class 87's were present. GBRf Livried 08451 with at least one unidentified GBRf 66 in the shed as well.

In this Piccie from Old Oak common looking East towards Willsden there are no less than 14 locomotives of four different classes. First up are the 58's in the foreground these were 58047, 58024,58033, 58045, and 58020. Behind the 58 were the 31's these were 31308, 31465, 31113 & 31514, Followed by 73131 + 73XXX with an unidentifeid Class 08 on the right. In the background is 180 102 in the Adelante shed. A rake of now stored or withdrawn Intercity livried MK3 Sleeping coaches can also be seen as well.

Waiting for the cutters torch Class 47535 Coded as WNZX which means Stored waiting for disposal. Its a shame really as these locos were one of the main workhorses back in the days of British Rail. Also in the same line awaiting the same fate as 47535 was 37719, 08541, 37892, 37513, 31427 and D6535 (33116). Also noted was a mock up of a class 67 Cab in EWS red on wagon in the same line as well.

Here at North Pole Intl Traincare depot you will find a home base for all the UK allocated Class 373 Eurostar Trains. Even those run by GNER. Unit 3102 is the closest one to the camera even though its allocated to Forest in Brussels. The other 373 unit is unidentified. In the front to the right of the picture is one of Eurostars Class 73's 73118

Side on Shot of 73130 and its Schafenburg coupling mechanism. This enables quick coupling to a failed Eurostar Powercar from the fron or rear. These Schafenburg couplers make the Class 73's even more uglier!!!! Eurostar only own 2 these are 73118 and 73130. Both are pictured at North Pole.
