2 Video grabs of 1497 in the Dirt at Brockenhurst on June 26th 2005. Apparently it derailed off the catch points at the end of the up siding, as it was was starting a trip to Eastleigh for a turn round.

47091 Thor accelerates away from Bournemouth after a crew change on the 08:50 6W61 Fawley Esso - Furzebrook Oil train. Some when in 1985. This train was scheduled to arrive at the Furzebrook branch at around 10:35.

Another shot of Thor on the 6W61 to Furzebrook as it leaves Bournemouth. In the background is an unidentified Class 73 on a newspaper train waiting for its return journey to Waterloo.

A Few weeks later and not far off 20 years to the day 47091 Thor shunts its train of TEA's at the BP Oil depot at Furzebrook on the Wareham - Swanage branch.

Thor Prepares to back in to the loading area with the first batch of Tea's to be loaded.

Over the past 25 years the the sidings have become almost unidentifiable due to the amount of vegetation that has sprouted up.

47091 Thor Heads out across the Purbecks with the return leg of the train to Fawley. Oil finished flowing from Furzebrook in 1990 when the pipeline was commissioned between Furzebrook Well head and Fawley Oil refinery. The site then loaded Liquid Petroleum Gas some 3 times a week from 1990 - 2005 running as the 6V29 Furzebrook - Hallen Marsh. In that time there was about 4150 trains from the LPG terminal to Hallen Marsh being hauled by various classes of loco's from 33's, 37's, 47's, 58's, 60's, 66's, 67's & 73's.

What a difference 20+ years make. The 3 noticeable difference's :- No Corporate BR Blue and No Class 47's, The Line is now electrified and where the 3 houses are standing in the back ground is now part of the Holes-Bay relief road. As well as an Asda supermarket now standing where the Christopher Hills farm feed Mills stood in the far background, where my Dad used to work. 47198 draws into Poole on an ECS working that will then work back north in an hour or so. Note the colour light signal on the Semaphore signal Gantry. This was replaced in 1988 with the signal Gantry that straddle's both the up and down mainline.
