Events 2011
Welcome to the new look Events 2011 page. It will be worth keeping an eye on this page over the next few months for what's happening around the Poole and surrounding areas. This includes Railtours, Weekend Engineering work, Special workings (if I get advance info in time), Model railway shows, Open days etc etc.
What's Changed?
Using a previous template that has been used on a number of section on the site it was decided to upgrade the old Events page with this new template. Over the course of 2011 it is planned to have one or more pages converted over to this new template.
On the left hand side of the screen are links to various railtour companies for ease and convenience. These can also be found in the LINKS section of the website as well. Also agsain for quick reference below the links will be a list of the railtours on the days that they are planned to run in Month and date order.
PLEASE NOTE:- Some of this information, particularly railtours is acquired with just dates and destinations in them. Most of the time I am not privy to timings or what other Loco's (regarding engineering works) will be present. From time to time I will get advance warning of what is working but sometimes its too late to post. For up to date information particularly regarding Railtours and engineering work please visit and subscribe to WRGEN and or Wessex Railgen.
Please note the events I am really interested in highlighting are ones that apply to the Waterloo - Weymouth line. Also tours that originate, terminate or pass through this area of the line. Also of note is that sometimes things don't go to plan. Some event may or may not happen. If I get to know about it in time I will try and update them on this site. A special thanks got to Network Rail for providing the engineering information.
