External Internal Named General Pics

Some internal shots now. We start at the front with the cab!!

What the driver plays with!!
From the bottom and from left to right I believe is the:- Brake handle, Windscreen wipers speed control, Screen wash button, the Horn ( My favorite part of a pig!!),The AWS Reset button above that is the signal bell for the driver to acknowledge the guards right away signal, then the Reverser (keyed in at Neutral) Then the power handle.
Next row up from the bottom are from left to right are:- Destination Indicator, De-mister, Emergency Rate, Tail Lights, Vestibule/gangway lights, Cab lights followed by 2 Brake gauges then the Speedo, Parking Brake switch, Interlock, traction, Auxiliary and Fault lights. Underneath them you have the Marker light switch, Brake and Line indicator lights.
Top row and from left to right:- DRA Reminder(?), Instrument lamp switch, Dimmer switch, Vestibule door lock switch, End unit switch, Overload reset switch, Wheelspin Switch!!
On the Pillar to the left:- Sander Button, to the extreme right is the AWS dial and the right of that is the CSR or NRN radio.

What happens when your train breaks down. South West Trains "Phone a Friend" service. A novel way of seeking assistance when the unit you are in is feeling unloved and having a god awful day!! Phone numbers have been removed for obvious reasons!!!

This is the DTSO of 2410 looking from the drivers cab vestibule door down the coach. I was waiting to return to Poole from Waterloo with this train when I took this shot.

The "snug" in the MBRSM of 2410. This was a great place to relax not only for weary commuters with ale or whiskey in hand after a long days hard slog in the office but for the average joe who was out for the night with their mates/friends. A very sociable addition to the train indeed. I only started using this after the smoking ban came in on the Class 442's. Otherwise I would be smelling like an ash tray if I had sat in there with all the smokers! The buffet is situated behind the far wall.

"Wessex Electric 2410" in the guards van. I guess so the guard knows what unit he's in? Its a bit blurry as we were bombing along at about 70 mph :)

The door release panel in the guards area of the buffet coach.

Brake pressure dials in the guards van, exactly the same as in the drivers cab, any ideas why? (Drop me a line).

Shots taken of the Standard seating in the Buffet Coach (designated Quiet coach). These pics were taken on the move, and early as the coach was in fact empty.
