The Class 442's - External Gallery
In this section you can find some shots of the external areas of the 442. Not all areas are covered, but hopefully as and when I can get some more pics then I hope to update this section.
Looking from the outside in. A look at the cab from the side of the main curved windscreen, showing the Brake, power and reverser handles, Horns and various other switches. Some which will be shown in the Internal section.
The T4 bogey of 2405 with a 3rd rail pickup shoe.

The 442's have 4 pairs of 3rd rail pickup shoes on the train. Supplying power to the four REP traction motors that are situated underneath the buffet car (MBRSM) on BREL P7 Motor Bogies.
Housed in front of the rear bogey of the DTSO is the AWS magnet that is attached to the under belly of the 442 coach.
