Wareham Down Main renewal 27th February 2005

The third week of P-way works concentrated on the down line at Wareham.

66215 on the 6Z34 Eastleigh Yard(EHYD) - Poole (PE)@ 00:57.

This arrived some 10 minutes late due to trespassers at Ashurst and trouble on a 12 car slamdoor service ( 00:25 @ Poole that arrived at about 00:50) 1393 was the leading unit. What was also rather surprising is that all trains worked "wrong line" to Wareham from Poole! Its the first time I have actually seen this practise done.

66108 arrives on the 6Z35 EHYD - PE @ 01:17

This was another Kop of an EWS Shed for me and the only one this weekend. :). At this point it started to snow lightly and the temperature was about -01 c.

This had a consist of about 15 ZBA's. This is the first time I have seen these at Poole in ages.

At the back of the train was about 3 YQA's wagons known as "Parr", with concrete sleepers as the load.

66012 pulls into Platform 2 with the 6Z36 EHTD - PE @ 02:01. This consisted of 2 KWA's and about 15 full JNA's

Network Rail registered JNA 29498

Yet another GBRf visitor to Poole ( and a way better shot this time) 66711 arrives on either the 6Z37 or 6Z10 EHYD - PE @ 02:35

The 66 had 15 empty JNA's as its consist about 397 tonnes in total. When it returns it will be loaded with loaded spoil, some 1400 tonnes worth. Originally in the system there were 6 trains listed, its where I got my info from but only 5 made it. GBRf has now managed to stretch their wings down as far as Wareham, Which is still further than Freightliner.

66208 arrives at 03:13 with the 6Z38 EHYD - PE. This had 5 empty JNA's in the consist a couple of Open wagons and 4 YWA's for carrying the old track panels.

66021 at the rear of the 6Z38. This will take this train out whilst all the other loco's will move down one train (until) the last train where it will be top and tailed and leaves for Eastleigh in the early hours of Monday morning.
