A series of pics with the first running of a Freightliner 66 through Poole for 2005. This had to run wrong line from Poole to the possession site at Holton Heath.
66535 got this honor on Saturday afternoon around 13:50 after being put on hire to EWS and running light engine from Southampton Maritime.
EWS were apparently one loco short due to an EWS loco going to the aid of a failed Freightliner intermodal on Friday night. The loco had to run wrong line and was going to take out the 6Z29 service back to Eastleigh later in the evening.
66535 Sits on the edge of the possession (on the up mainline) at Poole with the re-timed 16:30 Poole to Eastleigh yard. Unfortunately due to a broken rail on the up line at Beaulieu Road the train went no where.
Unfortunately 66535 left the possession some 4 hours down at 21:20. Seen here from Sterte Road & silhouetted against Poole Speedway stadium floodlights 66535 still waits for the permission to leave.
