Wednesday June 30th 2010 - Hot Sand coming through!!

66607 being the one of the 20 different Freightliner class 66's down this year, draws into platform 1 at Poole with the 6M42 Wool MOD sidings - Neasdon loaded sand.

Tuesday June 29th 2010 - I'm on Holiday where is the good stuff then?

Whilst waiting for something or other to turn up I snapped 444001 passing 444007 & 450109 both in the Carriage sidings. However what ever it was that was supposed to turn up never did. The 6O49 Sand empties to Wool were also late so I didn't stay down to photograph that working either.

Saturday June 26th 2010 - The mysterious case of the crappy looking headboard!!!

Stratford's finest. 47580 County of Essex, makes another impressive appearance with a railtour from North Walsham - Swanage.

47580 slows for a stop over Holes bay as it approaches Sterte road bridge. If only they made a decent looking headboard. The one on the front looked extremely crappie and cheap looking.

Westcoast Railway Company's 47804 was the other loco rostered for the return service. With the same crappy looking headboard on the 47 approaches platform 1 with the return 1Z75 Swanage - North Walsham tour.

Another view of the impressive looking large logo'd 47580 on the rear of the 1Z75. This was the 4th visit this year to Poole, where 47804 has visited 6 times. Both loco's had not visited Poole in either 2008 or 2009.

Wednesday June 16th 2010 - Tornado rips through Dorset!!!

UK Railtours did yet another first for Swanage railway in June. The first visit of the A1 Trust's A1 Pacific 60163 Tornado. Its seen here passing the rear of Sterte on the outward leg of the Purbeck Tornado tour to Swanage.

450033 approaches platform 1 at Poole after coming out of the Carriage sidings with a slow service to London Waterloo.

Up through Poole again with in a few weeks was the DBS management Loco 67029 Royal Diamond on the return leg of the 1Z83 Swanage - London Victoria "Purbeck Tornado". The reason why the 67 was on the front of the train for the return journey was that Tornado was too large to be turned on the turntable at Swanage. Needless to say Tornado worked the train into Victoria from Southampton as it went via Romsey and Salisbury.

60163 on the rear of the 1Z83 Swanage - London Victoria. Rumor has it that Swanage have acquired the turntable from Old Oak common. However this is not confirmed or denied but it could prove interesting for any steam loco's that go down to Weymouth that could possibly be turned at Swanage or where ever this turntable is situated.

Saturday June 5th 2010 - Return of the Black 5

Black 5 44871 runs through Poole, tender first with the support coach in tow with the 5Z71 Swanage - Castleton ecs move. The photo was taken using my iPhone camera. Its all I had on me at the time. It only has a 1.3 mega-pixel camera onboard hence why the pic is smaller than the others on this page.

Monday May 28th 2010 - Black 5 Holiday

Class 444 pioneer 444001 Naomi House accelerates away from its stop at Poole with a service to Weymouth.

Black 5-MT 44871 pootles along the rear of Sterte road with the 1Z82 London Victoria - Swanage "Swanage Belle". I didn't get the return leg with Sir Lamiel in the afternoon as I wasn't feeling too well. The Black 5 returned north a few days later on Saturday June 5th.
