King Arthur Class 4-6-0 30777 "Sir Lamiel" runs wrong line through Poole with the return leg of a turning move back to Swanage. It was decided that it would also originally bring back Swanage Railways Class 108 DMU M54504 & M51933 after a major overhaul & refurbishment at Eastleigh. but due to a fault on M51933 only M54504 was able to be moved.

A "sepia" shot of Sir Lamiel whilst it waits for clearance to carry onto Swanage. It seems as though this could be the first revenue earning steam train to do this type of work since 1968 according to local sources.

King Arthur Class 4-6-0 30777 "Sir Lamiel". it was rumored that this was the test train for the the new proposed London - Birmingham and the North high speed test train ;) .

Sir Lamiel's Nameplate

1st generation next to 4th generation (444045)

The classic BR Crest

With a D showing on the theater box indicator and a yellow cation signal, 30777 proceeds to GPS (ground position signal) 023 at Sterte where it will cross back onto the down mainline and continue its journey to Swanage. The working was the 5Z77 Eastleigh Works - Swanage.
Saturday May 22nd 2010 - Jumbo Black 5!!!

Ok its a picture of a plane high in the sky. But heres the good part:-
Its a Boeing B747-412f (SCD) belonging to Singapore Cargo # 9V-5FK. Flying from Fort Worth (Dallas) USA - Singapore Changi International Airport in Singapore. It was flying at a Height of 35,000 ft and at a speed of 468 knots (539 mph / 867 KM/H). This was taken using the 300mm IS lens on my Canon 400D. The info came from a web site that can track planes around the world in real time relaying departure & arrivial locations as well as real time data such as speed distance traveled etc etc. If you are interested goto Radar Virtuel.com. Its a great and intresting site many a time I have seen a plane flying high in the sky and wondering where its going. Well now you can with this site. There is also a site like this for ships as well but I cant remember the URL. Now if only there was one for Railways of britain :(

With possibly the first Black 5 through Poole since 1966 4-6-2 Class 5-MT 44871 replaces the failed 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" with the 1Z30 Weymouth – Paddington "Royal Wessex" tour.
Wednesday May 12th 2010 - DBS Managers Express

450107 prepares to move up in readiness for its next run to London.

Providing a number of firsts again 67029 "Royal Diamond" powers away from the 20 mph speed limit through Poole with the 1Z05 Reading - Weymouth DBS managers special.

The firsts were:- The first time I have seen it down here since its first ever time for a 67 past Eastleigh. August 8th 2003 with LPG empties to Furzebrook. Its been down since but in its Silver colours. The First time for a DVT to Weymouth. The first time since the 1990's for a sleeper coach to pass through Poole. Not to sure when the Sleeper service finished from Poole but it would have been the late 90's.

A better shot of the 67 with the large "3 beasties" logo and nameplate.

DVT 82146 on the rear of the Management special.
Saturday May 8th 2010 - The Somerset & Dorset (at last a decent heading....oops)

4-6-2 Merchant Navy Class 35028 "Clan Line" glides through platform 1 at Poole with the 1Z97 Weymouth - Waterloo "The Somerset & Dorset" tour.

35028 with the 1Z97 to Waterloo. The headboard at the front of the loco reads "Nine Elms Enginemen 1838 - 1967".

Providing backup and the facility to tow the loco and train from Yeovil to Weymouth after it was watered and coaled was EWS err sorry DBS Class 66, 66015.
Wednesday May 5th 2010 - We got ourselves a convoy 2010!!

Whilst awaiting his train to arrive from the carriage sidings (not this one) my mate Steve, pegs it down to the bottom end of platform 1 as 444044 threatens to bowl us whilst waiting for the Swanage Beerfest Convoy to appear!!

Large Logo liveried 47580 "County of Essex" hauls fellow Large Logo'd 56101, BR Blue 45133, Railfreight Grey 31271 & 50135 in Loadhaul Livery as the 0Z56 Severn Valley Railway - Swanage light engine move. Dont they mean "MEGA" light engine move?

An immaculately turned out 56101. This is what I wanted to photograph the most. If earlier reports were to be believed they mentioned the 56 was on the back of the convoy, so I wanted to get as many shots of the 56 as possible, as I was not able to goto this years Beerfest & Diesel Gala. Unfortunately these were the only shots I could get. :( Oh well maybe next time.

45133 was next. The second peak at the beer fest in successive years so they must like them down there. Having ridden behind one at 2009's gala I still prefer the 20's.....

31271 "Stratford 1840 - 2001" was the penultimate loco in the convoy.

Uniquely liveried 50135 Ark Royal still looks a tad odd in this livery. Its also become a heated debate between some class 50 fans as none of the 50 class members ever carried this livery whilst under BR ownership. I suppose that if you own the loco then you can paint it purple if you want ...hold on someone did Porterbrook to the Deltic!!!

The colorful convoy makes its way across Holes Bay causeway after a five minute stop at signal PO46 to let a local passenger service leave Hamworthy.
