Swanage Beerfest May 9th 2009
Welcome to page two of the special Gallery showing off my first ever Swanage Beerfest & Diesel Gala visit.
As with most of the new galleries going up from May 2009 this page is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024.

Having just had my first ever haulage behind a Deltic (I know I've led a sheltered life) listening to the hum of a pair 1650 hp Napier engines, although she was only running on one engine she still sounded superb and I felt like a little kid again. It brings back memories of Tulyars visit to Poole back in the mid 80's.

The Mc Crompton 26007 is about to depart Swanage with a service for Norden.

Swanage Railways resident shunter 08436 has just pulled in Drummond M7 into the platform at Swanage in preparation of it being repainted into Black Southern livery for the Eastleigh 100 open day at the end of May. Note that some wag has stuck a DB sticker above the number of the shunter!!!

Royal Scots Grey in the loop at Swanage after it had brought in a service from Norden.

45060's nameplate "Sherwood Forester". From my eyes the nameplate on the other side of the loco is on the piss.... One of the other photos I have taken you should be able to see it.

One of Dorset's Rail scene enthusiasts and member of Swanage Railway, Nathan Rogers takes a break with his dad from the goings on around Swanage on the warm Saturday afternoon.

Unrebuilt Battle of Britain class Bulleid light pacific 34070 Manston over the pit at Swanage in between the Drummond M7 and rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific Eddystone. These were all parked up here to receive attention/touch ups before going off to the Eastleigh 100 open days at the end of the month.

An Atmospheric shot of 5MT 0-6-2T Mixed Traffic Tank Engine 6695 in between the Queen Mary brakevan and their Pullman observation coach.

A permanent reminder to the volunteers past, present & future at Swanage Railway.

45060 draws off the double track at Corfe enroute to Norden. Note the nameplate is on the err well not on straight!!

The 10-ton Stothert & Pitt self-propelled diesel-electric crane at Norden

Jason flails for the camera as we are hauled back to Swanage by 20107 as they takes a break from keeping an eye on the alcoholic and gobby Grey known as Zontar!!

Yep even when Zontar's asleep his eyes are open. Looks like he cant hold his liquor!!

After hauling our train into Swanage 20107 prepares to leave for the loop for the next service train to arrive.

33103's nameplate Swordfish.
