Saturday April 19th 2008 - Dorset County Choppers

On a wet damp and murky Saturday morning 20310 Gresty Bridge and 20307 with 57601 on the rear approach Sterte road Bridge with the first of two rail tour's to visit Poole. This was the 1Z30 Crewe - Weymouth "The Wey Farer" railtour organised by Spitfire tours.

Down at the station DR73927 lives up to its nickname of the Poole Yard dosser by again being noted asleep in the Yard at Poole, a few weeks after its last visit.

The second of two tours to arrive at Poole was the Dorset Coast Express tour. This ran as the 1Z58 Hooton - Poole arriving at Poole just under an hour after the Class 20's had passed. Here resplendent in the new Wrexham & Shropshire Railway livery 67015 with 67014 on the rear stand waiting to gain access to the carriage sidings with the ECS.

The Wrexham & Shropshire branding adorned on the side of 67015

There were a few people down at the station to see the two railtours here Julian and Dirk pose for the camera as Jon Biglowe takes another shot of 67014 in the sidings.

The water facilities in the carriage sidings at Poole have been out of use for some 2 years now so this tanker had to come all the way from West Yorkshire to refill the train with water.

67014 sat at the blocks on #10 road in the old goods yard at Poole so the coaches could be filled up with water. Before anyone accuses me of trespassing the driver invited me in past the gate to take some photos.

67014 prepares to take the 16:00 1Z58 Poole - Hooton return.

Ninety minutes later and 20307 & 20310 power through Poole with the return 1Z31 Weymouth - Crewe again with 57601 on the rear.

Wednesday April 16th 2008 - Testing Testing Testing

37608 leads as it heads down the branch at Hamworthy Goods on a glorious blue sky morning.

The Data panel and DRS logo on 37611.

After 10 minutes on the Hamworthy branch the train was scheduled to run next to Fareham. 37611 starts to clag as it leaves for Hamworthy junction.

A change of loco for the Wool sand turned up 66531 which was a kop for me. After hot footing it back in time to see it pass Sterte with the 0M42 Soton Maritime to Wool light engine move.
Tuesday April 15th 2008 - Holes Bay Tractors

37611 & 37608 top and tail the return 1Q14 Selhurst - Bournemouth T&RSMD via Weymouth Serco test train cross Holes Bay on a sunny afternoon.
