Saturday 5th April 2008 - Gloomy Fred

In between deluges of rain and snow 66611 passes through Sterte with the 6Y49 Angerstein Wharf - Wool MOD sand empties.

Monday 31st March 2008 - Sand, Stone n' Gulls!!

About 10 minutes before the Sand came through this chap (I called him Steven) decided to land on the lamp post and started to make a noise telling me it was his spot.... yeah like I was going to move!!!

With Steven the Seagull still being noisy and soon to move himself Freightliner's 66605 passes under the signal gantry at Poole with the 6M42 Wool - Neasdon loaded Sand.

With barely two trains in 2007 hauled by a Class 60, 2008 seems the year of the tug for our neck of the woods. 60079 "Foinaven" approaches platform 1 at Poole with the 7V48 Hamworthy - Whatley stone empties unusually on a Monday. This was the ninth time a Class 60 had been down here so far this year but the first time in charge of the stone train and the second time this year for it to run. It ran through Poole a few days later on the 6M57 Wool - Watford loaded Sand.

Thursday 20th March 2008 - Tuggin Heck!!

A nice black and white shot of 60054 Charles Babbage passing Sterte (Poole) with the 6M57 Wool MOD - Watford sand. This loco was sounding fantastic, The driver "wellied" it coming across the bay.

60054 with the 6M57 Wool MOD - Watford sand. This was using the old PGA hoppers (what it used to use) with a VTG PGA on the back. This is the seventh time this year a Class 60 has been allocated onto this working, and the fourth different one to work it.

Monday March 17th - Angry sand!

Intermodal pool 66539 with the 6Z42 Angerstein - Wool MOD sidings sand empties. This replaced 66530 that came off at Southampton Maritime. These were supposed to run down the previous Saturday but for some unknown reason did not. So consequently the loaded train was some what late, like a good few hours. It was noted still at Wool at 22:00 hours, then again early the next morning idling in Eastleigh yard waiting to depart to Neasdon for emptying.

Thursday March 6th 2008 - Desiro bits

450093 leaves the carriage sidings at Poole with a service to Waterloo.

Both showing the wrong destinations (Nice one SWT) 444042 still with wrong coach mixed in sits at Poole with a Weymouth - Waterloo service whilst 450016 comes into platform 2 with a Waterloo - Poole terminating service.
