Saturday March 1st 2008 - Stobart Sand

Colin #015 (444015) ;) approaches Poole with a Weymouth - Waterloo service. This was one of the first shots I have taken using my new Canon EF90-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. Subsequently all the images taken on this day were with the 300mm "Teggin" lens

47802 "Pride of Cumbria" rounds the bend at Poole with the 1Z86 Watford - Weymouth "Thomas Hardy Circular".

The train bar one coach was all in Stobart Rail livery.

The last coach was a mark 2 air con in the short lived Blue Pullman colours. Apart from that and two Mark 1 buffets the rest of the coaches were Mark 3.

47712 "Pride of Carlisle" brings up the rear of the train. This lead the train out of Weymouth on its return journey via Yeovil. This loco was one of the 12 push pull 47/7s that were used in the 1980's between Glasgow & Edinburgh. It bore the name Lady Diana Spencer. I think there should be another locomotive named after her.

A Black & White shot of 66530 clagging a bit with the 6Z42 Saturdays only Angerstein Wharf - Wool Mod sidings Sand empties.

Tuesday February 19th 2008 - Moggie & Sand!!

A Feline resident of Sterte sits on the cable trough's staring up at Dorset Ned whilst waiting for the EWS & Freightliner sand trains.

66088 is about to pass under Sterte footbridge with the 6M57 Wool - Watford loaded sand.

Dorset Ned takes a drag on his favorite Cigarette on a cold day in between sand trains at Sterte.

66602 with the 6O49 Neasdon - Wool MOD sand empties rounds the curve at Poole heading for Wool.

Wednesday February 6th 2008 - Midweek Sand

66510 again in charge of the sand heads the 6M42 Wool MOD sidings - Neasdon sand working as it passes 444006 on a Waterloo - Weymouth turn.

66510 approaches the 30 mph board as 450076 sits in the carriage sidings awaiting its next run to Waterloo.

Saturday February 2nd 2008 - Saturday Empties

For the fourth time so far this year a different Freightliner 66 on the sand. This time it was 66510's turn with the 6Z42 Angerstein Wharf - Wool MOD sidings sand empties.

66510 in charge of the 6Z42 at Sterte.

Monday January 21st - Intermodal Sand!

66501 Japan 2001 passes under the signal gantry at Poole with the 6M42 Wool - Neasdon loaded sand. This is a rare working for a loco thats in the Intermodal pool and not the Heavy Haul pool.

Monday January 7th - Blustery Bay

Hopefully not having Bird Flu this Swan was photographed at Holes Bay whilst on my way to Creekmoor Viaduct to photograph the Wool Sand.

The first Wool - Neasdon sand of the year bought 66551. Its seen crossing the causeway at Holes Bay.

With Beacon Hill in the background 66551 approaches Creekmoor viaduct.

Another shot of 444018 from a bridge, this time from the Holes Bay road Bridge as it nears Poole with a Weymouth - Waterloo service.

Sunday January 6th - Lazy & Cloudy Afternoon

For some strange reason 444018 does not run into the sidings at Poole but runs wrong line and terminates and then the driver changes end. This has just arrived with a Waterloo - Poole service.

444018 on the up main.

With 444018 still on the up main (now with the driver in the other cab) 220015 slides into the carriage sidings after running ECS from Bournemouth. The Voyager has XC branding on it.

220011 passes Sunday shoppers waiting at the High Street level crossing. On Sundays the Voyagers are diagrammed to run ECS to Poole for out-berthing and cleaning. This Voyager has no branding what so ever on it.
