December 18th - Sandy the Tug

Just six days later 60010 is back in the area again with the return 6Z57 Wool - Watford loaded sand. This was the first time a loco other than a 66 had been allox to this job. Its seen here crossing Holes bay in glorious weather.

December 11th - Swanage Fish & Wintery Sand!

A new visitor to Poole Yard is Balfour Beatty liveried 07-16 Universal Tamper/Liner DR73251. I had not seen this one so it was a kop for me.

66237 heads a rake of 15 empty EWS "Rudd" wagons bound for Swanage Railway. The train ran as the 6Z41 Eastleigh Yard - Furzebrook. The rudds have been hired from EWS by Swanage Railway as part of reconstruction of a pre 1967 look to the track layout at Swanage. Unfortunately my photos I took turned out to be rather disapointing and therefore most of Justins have been featured as they were much better. More pictures and a full report of the arrival of the train can be found HERE.

December 10th - Sophie's Sunny Sparking Sand

66581 Sophie brings the 6M42 Wool - Neasdon loaded sand through Poole on a cold but sunny winters afternoon.

An unidentified 444 sparks as its shoe leaves the juice rail whilst on its way to the carriage sidings at Poole. Its not everyday you can get these shots. But they look good when you can.

November 29th - Morning Stone

November 12th - Sunny Sand

On a sunny winters day (for once) 66560 approaches platform one at Poole with the 6M42 Wool - Neasdon loaded Sand.

October 15th 2007 - Finally!!

Finally after 5 years and a good few many miles I finally managed to kop my last 450. 450124 had the honour of being my final one to see and this was diagrammed on the 14:59 Wareham to Southampton Central service.

10th & 11th October 2007 - Bluebirds to Swanage

66704 Colchester Power Signalbox passes through platform two at Poole with the 6G66 Eastleigh Yard to Furzebrook Oil Terminal ballast working special for a possession on the privately owned Swanage Railway. A total of 15 HQA Auto-ballasters were required almost 1000 tons of ballast and in total 1476 tons including the loco made it onto the stretch of line at Motala for about a 1 mile ballast drop. The loco was the first class 66 to visit Swanage Railway and was the longest train that had traversed over the Swanage line since the end of BR Steam Specials in 1967.

Its the 11th October and 66704 has completed its historic ballast drop on the Swanage Branch and heads past the Skate park at Baiter recreation ground on its way back to Eastleigh.

28th September 2007 - Brian's at Bournemouth

Network Rail owned & Operated class 31 31105 sits at the depot awaiting its next turn of duty. It arrived with the structure gauging train with 31285 a few days previously.

31285 at the other end of the structure gauging train at Bournemouth. This left later on in the day of the 28th.

27th September 2007 - Oh No Not another one err two!!!

Coach number 63646 from 450046 is loaded onto an Allelys Low Loader by 73235 for transport to Kilmarnock for repairs after its coming together two nights previously with 444026 at Northam. 450046 suffered Heavy Damage (and I do Mean Heavy Damage) to the drivers cab side where the drivers cab side had been "split" open by the force of the impact thus showing the rear of the inside cab equipment and insulation, bogie damage was also present and the unit suffered a severe scrape a third of the way down the side of the coach.

Resembling more like a boxer the morning after losing a world title fight the drivers side of 63646 (450046) is patched up for its long trip to Kilmarnock for repairs. At this date there were a total of 5 class 450's / 444's out of action due to accidents!! These were 444042, 444026, 450046, 444013 & 444011. 444011 was re instated to traffic after it had its shoes replaced but there is still a shortage of Desiro's and some weird 444/450 combinations have been reported. 444026 left via the same way a few days later.
