Didn't know 66's were fitted with steam engines. Steam rises from 66187's radiator grilles during the 10 minute monsoon at Eastleigh.
The ancient guttering system at Eastleigh couldn't cope with the deluge of water and the water was coming back out of the drain pipes!!
Another shot of 66187 but this time taken from nearly opposite it. This was as close as I was going to get to it whilst the rain was coming down!!
A good 30 minutes after the monsoon and the cloud is still threatening as 59103 trundles out of platform 3 with the 7V16 Fareham - Whatley stone empties.
Three minutes later and 66157 storms through the middle road at Eastleigh with a very short 6V38 Marchwood - Didcot Yard MOD working.
66571 stops at the top end of platform 3 for a crew change with an early 4O51 Wentloog - Southampton Maritime intermodal.
Making a rare appearance at Eastleigh is 150261 The Riviera Flyer with an ECS move to Romsey. This came back about 30 minutes later.
08664 strangely shunting FAA 609035 around the yard. It seems as though this was being shunted into a consist of other cripples in preparation for a trip to Marcroft engineering later this week.
67003 has come off the Fareham line and draws through platform 2 to gain access to the up fast with the return Brighton murder mystery tour to Victoria (I believe).
66592 accelerates away from platform 1 after a crew change with the 4S59 Southampton Maritime - Coatbridge intermodal service.
66715 Valour storms through Eastleigh on the down road with the 6Y19 Mountfield - Southampton Western Docks Gypsum empties.
66171 runs through platform 1 with a late running 6V62 Fawley - Tavistock junction oil train.
Seems fitting that we end this set of photos at Southampton Central as 66044 draws into platform 1 with a late running 4E44 Southampton Western Docks to Wakefield Euro Terminal intermodal service.
