COMING SOON: HIGHBURY ROAD
London February 5th 2005

For the first trip out of the year I decided to got to London, Eastleigh would have been ok but I prefer to go there on weekday's and as I have hardly any days off left for this finacial year I settled for London instead. I had a few more 66, 92 and 91 kop's for the day as well as several units I haven't seen. I will be dedicating a page to the loco's I require in the near future so keep an eye out for that to appear. So heres the pics.

90034 rests at Euston on the London end of the Scotrail overnight sleeper service.

90034

90026 was at the other end (country end) This took the set to Wembley for servicing & Cleaning with 90034 at the rear.

390021 approaches the end of its journey as it draws into one of Euston's platforms.

390012 approaches Harrow & Wealdstone with a London bound service.

321414 accelerates from Harrow & Wealdstone with a service for Milton Keynes.

377215 on a Brighton - Watford service, passses 390017 on its way to London Euston.

Great Eastern liveried unit 321337 speed away from Harrow & Wealdstone.

66540 passes Harrow & Wealdstone on a northbound liner.

222020 prepares to leave St. Pancras with a service for Loughbrough. This is only the second time I have seen one of these.

43073 sits at St Pancras awaiting its passengers for Derby.

Thames Link now operates its services out of St Pancras as well as Midland Mainline. 319445 takes this service out.

From the foreground to the rear are 91129, 91106, 91105 & 43167 at Kings Cross.

91129 was on the Kings Cross to Glasgow Central service when it failed just as it was supposed to leave. Here a fitter / shunter prepares to lift the heavy buckeye coupler into position so another loco can attach to the front.

91106, guided by the shunter reverses onto the front 91129. This then left some 40 minutes late as a double headed service. Why they didn't remove the dead 91 and tow it Bounds green is beyond me. Also there were 2 Class 67's thunderbird locos and 1 66 with in throwing distance to use.

3301, with 3302 up front, having just arrived with a White Rose service from up North.

As mentioned earlier 66044 by Gas Works tunnel @ Kings Cross.

67013 stands next to fellow class member 67025 at Kings Cross. Presumably these along with 66044 were the weekend thunderbird loco's.

The first time in over 18 years that I have visited Waterloo East. Here 376005 draws in with a service for Charing Cross (just across the Thames).

The jury is still out on these new refurbished units on whether they are just great looking or just too damned ugly!!! 455833 Sits at Waterloo East with a service to Tatenham Corner.

A close up shot of 2 Desiro's (class 450)coupled together. 450097 & 450102 at Waterloo International.

450097 at the head of a Pompey service at Waterloo International.

My Train home was 2404. Due to engineering works between Woking and Clapham Junction the train was diverted round the Chertsey loop. At one point when we got to Winchester we were 6 minutes early. Although we were at Winchester for the 6 minutes we arrived at Poole some 2 minutes early.
