66243 approaches Basingstoke with the 6M44 Eastleigh Yard - Wembley Enterprise. This was composed of a rake of ICA bogie tanks (ex Quidhampton) and Corus Steel owned flat wagons with long welded rails.

221130 glides into platform 4 at Basingstoke with a service for the north.

159006 approaches platform 3 with a service to Waterloo from Exeter.

170307 approaches platform 4 with a service from Brighton to Reading.

66712 passes through Platform 1 at Basingstoke with the Mountfield - Southampton Western Docks Gypsum train.

67013 storms through Basingstoke with a Pullman special from Brighton returning to Victoria.

66713 Forest City sits opposite platform 3 at Eastleigh.

Forest City nameplate from 66713. This was named to mark the visit of GBRf management to the GM Facility in Ontario Canada, prior to delivery to the UK.

66716 Willsden Traincare Center hauls 73205 and 73209 down opposite platform 3. These had just arrived with 66704 and 66721 in a 5 loco convoy from Willsden.

66721 fresh off the boat ( well about 3 weeks actually) and still smelling new passes platform 3 bound for a rake of empty JNA's.

66721 approaches the JNA's at a rather slow speed. This was the first time that a Metronet loco had been used for engineering works in the Eastleigh area as well as the first visit to Eastleigh. Hopefully it wont be the last.

A little GBRf line up. 73209 "Alison", 66713 "Forest City" & 66716 "Willsden Traincare Center".

Another line up of loco's this time 73205 "Jeanette", 66713 "Forest City" & 59103 "Village of Mells". The 59 was running round its wagons seen earlier on after it emptied its load of stone at the stone terminal.

Another shot of "Jeanette" 73205 bathed in a late spring sunshine.

A close up shot of the cab ends of the 2 73's coupled together showing the Hi level pipes.

My final pic is more from shock than anything. traveling back on a Wessex Electric unit # 2403 approaching my stop of Poole I went out into the coach vestibule of the buffet guards van and to my horror could see daylight (well dusk) at first where I thought the door had not closed correctly. Upon closer inspection and the fitment of my entire hand through the gap It seems as though the rubber seal that protects the door had been ripped off. I went and told the guard about it and he had said it has been reported 3 days previously and said that it was hoped to be looked at over the weekend. Apparently whre they load the buffet trolleys on and off the train at Bournemouth they keep catching the rubber seals on the doors. I am not sure whether it had been looked at or not. But I went to Winchester by train the following Sunday and came back from Bournemouth on an unidentified Wessex Electric and the same thing had happened on one of the doors on that unit as well, But this was a public door and not a crew only door like on 2403. Incidently all 23 442 units were working on Friday April 28th. 2405 was at Ilford being refurbished.
