Continuing on the look back at Eastleigh.

NSE liveried 302 unit 302210 on jacks undergoing inspection.

456005 getting the inspection of my older brother Tim!!

Not an everyday photo opportunity. Basicly kneeling in the 4 foot (not unless you are a steam nut!!!)with two units head on with that strange chap in the red shirt in the picture again!!! Mind the Juice rail!!! ;)

Head on shot of a BR Blue 56 at one of the open days.

Not long after being re-patrioted from The Netherlands 27000 was repainted into its old BR Green livery and nameplate's re-applied to the locomotive. Here it stands in front I believe 50007 Sir Edward Elgar.

2 Shots of Eastleigh's resident class 07 D2991. Its still there at Eastleigh. There was a TV broadcast of Nelson running under its own steam and I could see D2991 in the background. Lets hope this gets a make over as well as it didn't look as good now as it did in the above photo's.

Eastleigh works pet D6508 (AKA 33008) Eastleigh in BR Green.

No open day in the 80's or 90's was complete with out a brace of Deltic's making an appearance. D9016 Gordon Highlander sports a Network Southeast Headboard!!!

A drivers eye view of the show from the cab of D9016 Gordon Highlander.

D9016 Gordon Highlander nameplate.

An overall line up of some of the exhibits at Eastleigh. This was a good day for me obviously for the amount which was on show... but I picked up £65 that was lying between the switched off 3rd Rail and one of the running lines on one of the tracks to the depot :)

Again no open day is complete without Kettles coming for a visit. Here an M7 0-4-4T Steam locomotive # 30053 sits coupled to a SR liveried Queen Mary Brakevan.

One of my Train buddies that went to this open day was Nigel Burrows. He we are sat in an 08 cab together. Him taking a snap of me and me taking of him, and yes I am hopefully going to get the snap from Nigel. He is trying to find the photo of me. So you will be able to see a very young Hentis in an 08 soon(TM) EEP!!!

New around the time of the open day was the Network Southeast Snowblower Train!!! Considering we never really got a lot of snow back then (hardly get any now) this was a bit of a novelty. Any ideas where it is now or what happened to it drop me an email and I will put the info up and the credit for the information.

At one of the two open days I went to the PW guys were showing how they re-rail a wagon using the Eastleigh Breakdown crane and also the Bedford Rerailing Lorry was being used as well. Both these items are now no longer used as I have not seen these at Eastleigh for quite a few years. Any one have any information on where these went please email me. Again credit for the information will be given.
