(Page 1) (Page 2) (Page 3) (Page 4)
Eastleigh has changed a bit from the mid 80's to present day. Situated north of Southampton and slap slapbang next to Southampton Airport which is served by Southampton Airport Parkway. Eastleigh has a locomotive stabling point, at the time these photos were taken, British Rail Engineering Ltd Works (BREL) which is now closed. Also branchlines from Portsmouth via Fareham and Romsey Branch from Salisbury that also serve Eastleigh. Eastleigh also has large railway yards that are visible from the station.
This selection of photographs range from around 1983 to about early 1990's and cover the initial BR Corporate Blue liveries to the Railfreight and Intercity sectors. The photos range from Open Days to a just turn up and visit (and hope to get in round the stabling point), to just photos from the station area. These will be spread over the next few pages for your benefit.
